Middle Java Engineer (Voice AI platform)

SPsoft is seeking a skilled Java Engineer to join our Voice AI Platform team — an opportunity to work on real-world conversational AI solutions that integrate speech recognition, natural-language understanding, and cloud-native microservices. You’ll be part of an agile engineering group developing production-grade systems powering next-generation digital assistants.

Duties and responsibilities

• Design, develop, and deliver high-performance backend services for Voice AI agents.
• Collaborate closely with AI, DevOps, and product teams to build scalable cloud-native microservices.
• Develop, debug, and maintain REST and WebSocket-based APIs.
• Implement robust messaging and event-driven workflows using Kafka or Pub/Sub.
• Ensure code quality through automated unit and integration testing and clean documentation.
• Participate in architecture discussions, contribute to technical decisions, and mentor junior developers.

Required skills and experience

• 3 + years of hands-on Java development (Java 17 +, Java 21 preferred).
• Strong proficiency in Spring Boot, Hibernate, and object-oriented design.
• Experience designing and building RESTful APIs and real-time communication with WebSockets.
• Proficient in PostgreSQL and relational database modeling.
• Familiarity with Kafka, RabbitMQ, or Google Pub/Sub messaging systems.
• Hands-on experience with containerization (Docker, Kubernetes).
• Cloud exposure to GCP, AWS, or Azure (any major provider).
• Understanding of CI/CD pipelines, automated testing (Unit / Integration).
• Knowledge of agile development principles and collaborative teamwork mindset.
• Previous experience with GenAI/LLM would be a BIG plus.
